Shiny happy people? THE SCIENCE OF WELL-BEING with Prof. Lea Cassar
Shownotes
Can we influence our own well-being? And if so, why are the things of which we think they make us happy often just causing the opposite effect? Why do we get it wrong and what can we do instead to lead a happier life?
Prof. Lea Cassar has asked herself all these questions and has done extensive research on them. She is holding the chair of Empirical Economics at the University of Regensburg. Since her PhD, she has been immersed in topics like job-meaning for and the general well-being of – for example – employees and students. As an economist, she is not only interested in how learning to care for oneself can affect someone's personal life, but also increase a company's success or a country's economical strength.
According to her field of research, she is currently conducting a course on "The Science of Well-being" at the University of Regensburg. Why she is giving this course and what exactly it is that she is teaching there – those are some of the questions we are talking about in this episode of our podcast Gasthörer.
If you want to know more about the subject or maybe even enrole: here is further information on Lea Cassar's current course The Science of Well-being
